Thank you so much for saying out loud my own feelings. I feel others' experiences the same as you.

You made me cry, T'pon. Not surprisingly, I too have been avoiding the news. I know bad stuff is happening there, and I am praying, and will give money, probably more than we can afford. But to know the "personal story's" are sometimes more than I can take.

But, like you, I have caught snippets here and there and been unable (or unwilling) to tune them out. The footage is surreal, the personal stories heartwrenching. And when they involve children, astronomically so. I am captive to them, I feel as though I must grieve for each and every one I hear about, on a personal level.

So...thanks for saying this. It helps to know I'm not alone in a personal despair over things I cannot change, I can only pray about. You wrote about this beautifully.

Thank you so much for your concern and support. Everyone down there needs our prayers. As it is, we still do not know where my in-laws are or what they might need. Other than a phone to call us on again!

I am so much like you. I cannot watch or I am ripped apart. But once I start watching, I cannot stop. I sat on the couch tonight and sobbed watching the NBC special on the disaster. I'm not sure how to avoid it.
